Brendan is no stranger to the baseball field as he has played every possible role when it comes to being a part of an organization. Having played his whole life, Brendan finished his playing career while earning a degree at Mars Hill University. From there he began his coaching career in 2021 in the Old North State League and quickly moved his way to a Co-General Manager position in 2023. The next year, he and his family became the owners of a summer collegiate baseball team and have since transformed it into what is now the Sawmills Timberkings.

leslie emery

Baseball has always been apart of Leslie’s life. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she has spent many days at Fenway Park watching the Red Sox with family and friends. Growing up she played competitive travel softball, earning her a scholarship to play in college at Post University. Since graduating college in 2019, Leslie has always found a way to keep the game in her life from giving lessons to coaching teams of all ages and skill levels. In 2023 she became Co-General Manager for an Old North State League team with Brendan and the following year her family became team owners for the first time.

cody penny
Sawmills native Cody Penny is entering his second season as the Sawmills Timberkings head coach. From playing at the professional level and coaching various levels the past 9 years, he brings his extensive baseball knowledge and experience to the field.
Cody is the current Head Assistant Coach at Caldwell Community College
